New Chevy Colorado for Sale near Austin, TX
There is a specific Austin problem the mid-size truck solves. You want a bed — for the mountain bike, the trips to the lumber yard, the moves you keep getting asked to help with, the trailhead on the weekend. But you also park in a garage downtown, or in a driveway on a 1940s lot in Travis Heights, and a full-size crew cab genuinely does not fit your life.
The Chevy Colorado is the answer to that, and we keep 25 of them in stock.
Why size is the whole argument
The Colorado is roughly the length of a midsize SUV. That single fact drives most of the purchase decisions we see:
It fits a standard garage. It fits downtown and airport parking structures where a full-size crew cab has to circle. It parks on a residential street without taking a space and a half. And it maneuvers through the surface lots and alleys of central Austin without a spotter.
You give up some capability for that. A Silverado 1500 tows considerably more and hauls flat sheet goods the Colorado cannot. If those are weekly needs, buy the bigger truck — we stock 188 of them and we will point you there rather than sell you the wrong vehicle. But if they are occasional, the mid-size is the truck you will actually enjoy owning in a city.
What is on the lot, by trim
WT (15) — the work truck, and the bulk of our inventory. Clean spec, the least money, the same capability underneath.
Trail Boss (4) — suspension lift and off-road tuning on a mainstream trim. The right call for Hill Country forest roads and trailheads.
ZR2 (4) — the serious off-roader. Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear locking differentials, wider track, real suspension travel.
LT (1) and Z71 (1) — limited availability; call ahead.

Trail Boss or ZR2
Both look the part. The difference is whether the trail is the route or the destination.
Trail Boss handles Hill Country forest roads, a rutted ranch two-track, a wet launch ramp, a trailhead access road. That covers the overwhelming majority of actual off-road use around Austin.
ZR2 is built for terrain that would stop the Trail Boss. Locking differentials front and rear, dampers designed for repeated high-speed impact, more travel. If you are running Big Bend or genuine rock, it is worth the money. If you are driving to a campsite, it is more truck than the job needs — and we would rather tell you that than take the larger sale.

For a buyer working a full week in Austin, Sunday is often the only realistic shopping day — and we are one of only two Chevrolet dealerships open within 40 miles that day, the only one open before 11:00 AM.

Pricing, financing and your trade
Chevrolet incentives change monthly and are keyed to ZIP, so the offer an Austin 78702 or 78751 buyer qualifies for is often not the nationally advertised one. Send us the trim and we will run current rebates, GM Financial APR and lease programs, plus Farm Bureau, first responder, military and supplier discounts where they apply, and return a written figure. See current new-vehicle specials and lease specials.
Complete a secure credit application from home and value your trade online before you drive out. Because we share a used lot with Covert Ford Hutto, we appraise and retail every make directly — worth knowing if you are trading a Tacoma, Ranger or Gladiator.
Service after the sale
Oil changes, tire rotations, brakes, alignments, state inspections, warranty and recall work, all handled by GM-trained technicians using genuine GM and ACDelco parts. Schedule service online or call 877-841-2163.
Directions from Austin
From north Austin — the Domain, Tech Ridge, Wells Branch, Pflugerville — take I-35 north to US 79 and head east, or SH 130 north to the Hutto exit. Figure 25 to 30 minutes. From central, east or south Austin, SH 130 is usually the faster of the two, especially at rush hour. We are on the north side of US 79 in Hutto, sharing a campus with Covert Ford Hutto.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Colorado big enough to be a real truck?
For most people, yes. It tows meaningfully more than a crossover, the bed handles the loads most owners actually carry, and it does that without a full-size footprint. If you regularly pull more than about 7,000 pounds or need to haul full sheets of plywood flat, look at the Silverado 1500 instead - we stock 188 of those.
Will a Colorado fit in an Austin garage and parking garage?
That is exactly the reason people buy it. The Colorado is roughly the length of a midsize SUV, so it fits standard garages and downtown parking structures that a full-size crew cab does not. This is the single most common reason Austin buyers choose it over a Silverado.
What is the difference between the Trail Boss and the ZR2?
Trail Boss adds a suspension lift and off-road tuning to a mainstream trim. ZR2 is the serious version - Multimatic DSSV dampers, front and rear lockers, wider track, more travel. If you are driving to a trailhead, Trail Boss is plenty. If the trail is the destination, ZR2. We stock 4 of each.
How long is the drive from Austin?
From north Austin - the Domain, Tech Ridge, Wells Branch - figure 25 to 30 minutes via I-35 to US 79 east, or SH 130 north to the Hutto exit. From central or south Austin, SH 130 is usually faster at rush hour.
