There is a specific problem with buying a heavy-duty truck in Central Texas: almost nobody stocks them. Most dealerships keep three or four HD units as a gesture and order the rest, which means a six-to-twelve week wait and no chance to sit in two configurations back to back. LTZ (6) — leather and comfort content for trucks that also do long highway hauls.
WT (5) — work truck. Vinyl, rubber floor, the spec you want if the truck is a tool and gets upfitted.
Custom (4) — a step above WT without LT pricing.

Gas or Duramax — the honest version

The 6.6L gas V8 is the right truck for a lot of people and the diesel premium is real money. A rough rule: if you tow heavy several times a month, live in hill country where grades matter, or plan to keep the truck past 150,000 miles, the Duramax earns its keep in capability and resale. If you tow a few times a year and mostly run empty, the gas V8 will do the job and cost less to buy and to service.

What matters more than the badge is matching the truck to the trailer. Conventional bumper-pull, gooseneck and fifth-wheel ratings are all different numbers, and they change with cab configuration, bed length, axle ratio and drivetrain. Bring us the actual loaded weight of what you pull and the hitch type, and we will point you at the specific units on the lot that are rated for it — and tell you plainly when a 2500 HD is not enough truck and you want the 3500.

Work trucks, upfits and commercial buyers

A good share of our HD volume is commercial: contractors, well and pump crews, landscape outfits, welders, and ranch operations north and west of Georgetown. Sales runs Sunday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and we close Saturday instead, as Texas law requires one weekend day. For crews and owner-operators that is the useful half of the weekend: Sunday is often the only day a working truck is not on a job, and we are one of only two Chevrolet dealerships open within 40 miles of Georgetown that day.

Directions from Georgetown and points north

From Georgetown, take SH 130 south to the US 79 exit and head east about two miles — roughly 15 miles total, about 20 minutes, no I-35. From Liberty Hill or Andice, SH 29 east through Georgetown feeds the same route. From Jarrell or Bartlett, I-35 or SH 95 south to Taylor and then US 79 west both work, and if you are pulling a trailer to trade, 79 is the easier approach.

Do you service Duramax diesels in Hutto?
